Popular Over-the-Rhine cocktail bar Japp's recently received a makeover, transforming the drinking destination into a brighter, more open space while holding onto its charm and highlighting it's history.
Owner Molly Wellmann worked with local designer Susana Tolentino to revamp the look of Japp's. During the renovations, they opened up the space by removing the pergolas and opening the windows; refinished the floors; installed new seating on the other side of the bar; painted and installed a new banquette; added a gas fireplace from local Bromwell's; and added new furniture and decorations. Wellmann also had a neon sign made by American Sign Museum that is hung in the window which reads, "Are you thirsty?" which is how she welcomes patrons at the bar.
Japp’s is located on 1136 Main St., Over-the-Rhine
