Inside Covington's Sugar Whiskey Sis, an Eclectic Southern Eatery With Plenty of Moonshine

Covington recently got a new nightlife and Southern-inspired dining spot with the addition of Sugar Whiskey Sis, a self-proclaimed "moonshine room" on Madison Avenue. From the minds behind nearby Agave & Rye, famous for their alternative protein tacos (with options like kangaroo meat), the bar offers more than 50 different types of moonshine, craft cocktails, local beers and plenty of chicken and pimento cheese dishes, plus hand-dipped shakes and an espresso bar. “We’re thrilled to be able to open Sugar Whiskey Sis and share our love of moonshine with Covington,” said founder Yavonne Sarber in a press release. “From the menu to the bar, everything was designed with the intent of bringing moonshine into 2019. Guests can experience the moonshine room with knowledge that they’re getting the very best this nostalgic drink has to offer.” Sugar Whiskey Sis is located at 633 Madison Ave., Covington.
