BLOC Coffee Company, located in East Price Hill's Incline District, re-opened in their new location on Oct. 8. The new shop, located just a few blocks away from their original, was chosen after looking for a bigger space to accommodate their needs. "We love the diversity, the communitys loyalty to the neighborhood, location 10 minutes from everywhere and the architecture," says general manager Clay Gaddis.
The shop primarily serves locally-roasted Deeper Roots coffee. They also offer an all-day breakfast menu featuring items such as their Chipotle Egg Deluxe (egg, goetta, havarti, red onion, microgreens and Sriracha on an English muffin) and pastries either baked in-house or brought in from local bakeries. The majority of the coffee shop's proceeds go to BLOC Ministries, an organization that helps with job placement for formerly-incarcerated people and supports safe houses for female sex workers, recovery programs for addicts and after-school programs for children in the neighborhood.
"We hope to be a place for all walks of life to hang out and feel a part of our community," Gaddis says. "Regardless of where youre from, what you look like, what your faith is or lack there of, how rich or poor or in between you may be, this is a place for all of us."
BLOC Coffee celebrates their re-opening at their new location this Saturday (Oct. 27). The shop will be open for normal business hours from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and re-open that evening at 6 p.m. for a celebration of food and drinks catered by local businesses.
