The eighth-annual Opening Day Block Party filled Joe Nuxhall Way, Freedom Way and Walnut Street with the best and Reddest baseball fans on Earth. DJ ETrayn and The Naked Karate Girls performed live sets, while Anheuser Busch, Coca-Cola, LaRosas, Queen City Sausage, Buffalo Wings & Rings, Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, Titos Handmade Vodka, Jim Beam and the series of surrounding restaurants and bars covered all food and drink needs. Proceeds from the party went to the Reds Community Fund, a nonprofit helping to improve the lives of youth through baseball and softball outreach programs. Last year, over $180,000 was raised for the P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy.
