Cincinnatians can now scorch their little ol' tastebuds on some Southern-style hot chicken via Fiery Hen, a new chicken restaurant helmed by Dan Swormstedt, owner of neighboring Court Street Lobster Bar.
Located at 26 W. Court St., Fiery Hen offers a menu developed by chef Clint Walker featuring Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, catfish, burgers, fried green tomatoes, brisket and more. Sides run the gamut from greens with smoked turkey to honey cornbread and macaroni and cheese. There will also be moonshine flights, in partnership with Ole Smoky Moonshine, and 12 taps of local beer, among other beverages.
Were looking forward to bringing the recipes from our grandparents tables and libations from their backwoods' stills to the forefront of our tastefully Southern menu, Swormstedt said in a press release.
According to the same release, "Swormstedts uniquely crafted hot chicken recipe features a laborious methodology including massaged hen with cayenne-heavy rub. After it is fried, guests can choose a level of heat, with sauces ranging from mild to the cleverly coined 'Bless Your Heart' sauce."
The 78-seater restaurant, built in 1875, features a garage door in the bar area to create an indoor/outdoor space. They also have a stage for live entertainment, which will take place each Wednesday.
Hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-midnight Friday-Sunday. 26 W. Court St., Downtown, fieryhencincy.com.
