The nation's third indoor-outdoor concert venue is slated to open soon in Newport, right along the Ohio River.
PromoWest Pavilion at Ovation will open at 101 W. 4th St., and is modeled after PromoWest Productions venues like Columbus' EXPRESS LIVE! and the Stage AE in Pittsburgh. The forthcoming venue features three individual concert spaces — an outdoor amphitheater, an indoor music hall and an indoor club — and boasts "state-of-the-art" lighting and acoustical systems as well as a moveable stage.
The venue recently announced a number of live acts slated to perform at Ovation, including Lady A, Russ, Jelly Roll, The Struts, The Distillers and several others. Official show dates will be available soon.
Ovation plans to host a variety of live music, as well as sporting and special events like boxing, fundraisers, weddings and more.
"Once open, PromoWest Pavilion at OVATION will average over 150 events each year and will offer a variety of music from some of the biggest names in rock, folk, blues, jazz, metal, country, classic rock, alternative rock, and everything in between. The groundbreaking design will accommodate indoor audiences of up to 2,700 and an outdoor capacity of up to 7,000 summer concertgoers," a release says.
