While they have not met kids yet, they both enjoy meeting new people! Famous is a little more shy, but only takes a minute or so before he’ll be your best friend. Famous & Amos get along with the kittens and other small and medium dogs in their foster home. They love to play with the other dogs! Famous is working on sharing toys, but has made quick progress. This pair absolutely loves to snuggle with their people!! They can’t wait for their furever couch, a blanket, and their very own people.”

Arrivederci

Age: 5 Weeks / Breed: Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue
“These adorable little pups came into rescue at only 5 weeks old. They were riddled with worms, parasites and a tough ringworm infection! After a lot of love, care and medicine, they are now happy, healthy pups ready to say GOODBYE to rescue and HELLO to their forever homes! These pups were born August 3rd, making them around 15 weeks of age. Their mom was reported to be a Labrador Retriever/Golden Retriever Mix but their father is unknown. Based on how different these puppies look, it's tough to even guess Dad's breed! Because we did not have mom or dad in rescue, we can not guarantee the puppies' breed, adult weight and size, but based on their current weights (12-15 pounds each) we would guess for them to grow to be medium size dogs. The Goodbye pups have been exposed to other dogs, cats and handled by children. They are happy and well socialized! Because their foster family was focused on getting them healthy, they are not potty trained and have not started obedience training, so they will be a clean slate for their future families!The Goodbye pups have been through a lot in their short lives, but now that they are healthy and happy, they are ready for their forever homes”

Bailey

Age: 2 Years / Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Sex: Female / Rescue: Stray Animal Adoption Program
“Meet Bailey! She is two years old and about 20 lbs. We think she is a min pin mix of some sort. She is full of energy!! This girl loves to run, jump, chase, sniff, chew and play! She would do well with an active adopter with a fenced yard so she can run. She is improving on leash walking - she still pulls and is reactive to other dogs (not aggressive, just very playful), but she can get the hang of it with some training! She loves to play so much that she can get a bit nippy, so she would do best with older kids or adults. Bailey is not a big fan of cats and will chase. She loves to fetch her ball or rope toy, but is still learning the "bring it back" part! Bailey knows sit, lay down and beg (if she sees that a treat is involved!!) and is working on stay and paw. She loves to spend her inside downtime looking out the window at the world. If you're looking for an active dog to play with and are willing to put in some work training, ”

Bobby

“Introducing Bobby. He is a 2 year old Blue Heeler mix who weighs around 40 lbs. Bobby loves car rides, zoomies in the backyard and snuggle time. Bobby knows commands such as sit, stay and is potty trained. This sweet boy is great on a leash and loves to go for neighborhood walks. He does good in a crate but doesn’t willingly go in, a little treat bribing always works! Bobby loves to play with his two foster sisters, 15 pound schnauzer mix and 110 pound Newfoundland. Due to his herding breed he can be nippy during play, be he is easily redirected. He would probably prosper best in a home with older kids. Bobby has been diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. This means as he ages the signs and symptoms of lyme may show up and need treatment, but may never have signs or symptoms.”

Casper

“Say hello to Casper! This majestic man is a 3-year-old, 105-pound Great Pyrenees. He's a well-behaved boy who knows basic commands and walks well on a leash when he knows his person is in control. True to his breed, Casper loves patrolling his yard and will alert his family any time there's activity around his home. He'd love a family that spends a lot of time outdoors and has a large fenced-in yard for him to enjoy. He can be wary of strangers and responds well to slow introductions--he'll let you know when he's ready to be friends! And once you've gained his trust, you'll have a loyal companion who follows you around everywhere. Small children and homes with a lot of noise and activity tend to make him anxious, so Casper is asking for his future family to be kid-free. He's fostered with cats, who he enjoys following around and sniffing, and dogs of all sizes, though he prefers other low-key, independent dogs.”

“Meet Darla! This sweet, silly, playful female Beagle mix would love to become a part of your family, and is proof that age is just a number! She is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, up to date on all shots, and on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. When Darla came to SAAP, she was extremely overnight, in pain from a pinched nerve in her neck, as well as a UTI, so was placed on medical hold for some much needed TLC with her foster family. She is feeling so much better after being put on a diet, which resulted in a weight reduction of 25%! Her neck was treated with rest and steroids, and has improved greatly, but will require long term pain medication. Darla was also put on Royal Canin Urinary SO Dog Food while in SAAP's care to prevent and/or slow down any more development of crystals in her urine, which should be continued once she is in her Forever Home.”

“Meet the one hit wonders! These kittens are the life of the party! One kitten, Dee-Lite is a domestic long hair and her litter mates are all domestic short hair. (These babies are approximately 4 months old and litter box trained. They love to play among themselves and with their mom. These kittens are well socialized but can swat at hands and feet in an attempt to play. This play is all in fun but could scare small children. The wonders love a laser pointer and just about any other type of cat toy you can find! Even a shoe lace is exciting! The wonders have, in small increments, met dogs and was okay with them but these dogs didn't give chase to them. They have not met cats or kittens outside of their family but love to play and snuggle with each other. The one hit wonders would love to make themselves a part of your family”

“This is Dorothy! Dorothy is a 7 month old boxer mix and weighs about 35 lbs. She loves to play fetch, follow her humans around the house, and LOVES attention. She doesn't mind being in her crate and we are working on potty training. Dorothy is full of energy, but will easily match your energy if you're trying to relax. She is living with three large dogs and cats in her foster home and is going great with them.She can be timid with other dogs at first and is definitely the submissive type, but warms up very quickly. She is still learning not to jump on people when she's excited and how to properly walk on a leash, but is very smart so I'm sure he will learn her manners quickly. Jiggle

“Jiggle is the cutest little gray fluff who is looking for a very special adopter! Jiggle was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a neurological disorder that significantly impairs her balance; however, for Jiggle, she just wants to do normal kitten things like play with wand toys and spend time with her favorite people! She doesn't mind other cats or even dogs, and she would just need slow introductions in her new home. While Jiggle has a more severe form of CH, she would do best with a patient adopter who can keep her in a safe area since she struggles to stay upright without help. Jiggle doesn't know life any differently, and she will need to rely on her people for help (especially with eating and drinking) a bit more than other cats. CH is not a progressive disorder and doesn't impact Jiggle's lifespan.”

Longfellow is a companionable guy who lights up with the least attention. His big purr starts rumbling as soon as you touch him and he reaches up to you with his paws to invite interaction. Longfellow’s temperament is low key and his energy level wonderfully moderate. Longfellow came to STAF when he tested positive for FIV, the feline immunodeficiency virus, a condition in which we specialize. Cats with FIV have a less robust immune system, but with good attention to their health have a normal life expectancy. It is not transmissible to people. A vet contacted STAF on behalf of a client, on whose property Longfellow and several other cats had been dumped. For our dear literary cat, it is now time for the next chapter (or the last stanza) with the happily-ever-after part. Love and joy await!”

A few months ago he was found on the side of the road nearly blind, deaf, malnourished and could hardly walk. “Rosalyn’s expressive eyes make her look a little worried, though she certainly knows she has nothing to worry about. Just a tad wary when she first arrived at STAF, our darling calico now enthusiastically flops over for belly rubs and eats up every ounce of affection she can get. She can become quite frisky when she is engaged! Although Rosalyn is living tolerably with other cats, she much prefers humans and would absolutely soak up the love as the only feline in your world. Rosalyn has some chronic bronchial issues with an allergic cough and is looking for someone attentive to her medical needs—you’ll be rewarded many times over with the most wonderful companion we can imagine! A woman brought Rosalyn to STAF when the person who was caring for her outside passed away. She had lesions on her neck and tail that with vet care healed completely. Thank heavens Rosalyn’s precarious days on a busy street are over. A cozy sofa is her fondest wish. Dreams do come true”
