25 Adoptable Cincinnati Pets That Would Look Great in a Cozy Fall Sweater

Have you been considering adopting a new furry pal? With dog-friendly coffee shops, bakeries, bars and parks, Cincinnati is a great place to be a pet owner. While there are many good boys and girls looking for their forever home, there's a lot to think about when making the decision to bring home a pet. What kind of breed is right for you and your lifestyle? What adoption agencies should you look at? If you're serious about making this life step, adopting a pet is very rewarding — for you and the pet that gets a new home. We've compiled a list of available pets from a few local adoption programs to help you on your mission of finding the pet that's right for you. This is just a small glimpse into each agency's list of adoptable pets. If you are interested in seeing what else they have to offer, visit their websites to learn more. Also, keep in mind that each program has their own application process and some take longer than others. Winifred came to us from a rural shelter and was so timid when she arrived, but she's really come out of her shell in her foster home. She loves to play and loves kids. She is dog, cat and people friendly. Winifred is housebroken and crate trained. She needs a securely fenced yard because she's very speedy and has a beagle nose that can get her into trouble. She seeks the companionship of a playful confident dog. She walks well on a leash, rides well in the car, sleeps through the night. Basically Winifred is perfect.”

Mateo Age: 1 Year Old / Breed: Maine Coon-Domestic Medium Hair Mix / Sex: Male / Rescue: Desperate Cat Lives “This funny and affectionate boy was rescued from poor living conditions, along with approximately 200 other animals, from an animal hoarding facility presenting as a legitimate animal rescue facility. We have no idea how long Mateo was confined to the cage he was found in, but his foster mom estimates it was from kitten hood as he was a very fearful cat. Mateo was terrified of people and cringed at the back of his crate whenever they approached him. Once petting commenced he would relax somewhat and enjoy it. Mateo has blossomed over the past three months he has been in foster care. He’s more confident and no longer runs from his foster family members - unless it’s in play. He is very energetic and loves to play.
